Purpose-driven leadership is more important now than ever for several reasons. First, employees are not “forced” into a single career with one company. If employees do not feel passion from the leadership who run a mission-driven organization, they will be quick to find another employer to work for. Second, customers are choosing brands based on their purpose rather than price. If your brand doesn’t have purpose-driven leaders, it will be felt all the way to the customers.

It’s definitely possible to get good, productive work out of people who are just showing up to do their jobs and collect a paycheck, but only if the leader at the top has the long-term vision to guide their work. This makes that kind of vision and purpose incredibly valuable in modern work environments, where remote, hybrid, and freelance workers are a key part of most companies’ workforce.
Someone needs to be making decisions with a company’s long-term goals in mind. It’s critical to our business model. We’re trying to grow nationwide very quickly, and this means using a lot of remote workers and a lot of branches in different locations. This purpose doesn’t necessarily need to be grand, but it does need to be meaningful, positive, and achievable. Everything else can spring about organically from these features.
