This month’s show was unique because it brought together two individuals from very different businesses to talk about a topic they both could relate to. One over 100 years old and the other a PHX-based startup that is in its 5th year of business.

Megan Porth was practically born a conscious capitalist. Her parents and families have always owned businesses and believed in business as a force for good. You can clearly hear in her stories that she gets is and empowers those around her to jump on board. Her business, Your Contract Shop, is making purchasing a contract as easy as a purchase on Amazon.

Luke Amargo is a jack of all trades. He spent the early years of his career starting businesses and winning pitch competitions. He now serves as the Entrepreneur Manager at the Better Business Bureau Pacific Southwest and is on the Navy Reserve. His wide variety of skills and experience has given him the tools he needs to bring innovation to a 100-year-old organization. He’s a believer in conscious capitalism and educates main street entrepreneurs to build their businesses with the 4 tenets in mind.

Megan Porth is the founder and managing attorney at Your Contract Shop. Megan was born and raised around entrepreneurs and business people.

From a very young age, she was attending networking events, strategic planning meetings, and marketing seminars. Her passion for helping businesses grow inspired her to go to law school, where she graduated with honors and created and supported a number of school organizations.

Prior to law school, Megan worked as the Business Manager for a software development company, the Deputy Director for a statewide initiative, and a lobbyist for the Arizona Department of Veterans Services.

Additionally, Megan was the Chief Operations Officer of a web-based real estate training company, where she managed hundreds of clients and a full staff of employees. When she’s not working, Megan loves kayaking, camping, and granting wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Megan Porth, the principal at YCS, is only licensed in Arizona.

Luke Amargo (Uh-Mar-Go) comes from a military family, and grew up in San Diego, CA, and moved her due to college and stayed because of his startup and his work at Grand Canyon University (where he met Dom Pachuilo).

Luke has won some assorted startup awards, 1st Arizona Institute for Digital Progress, 1st PHXMobileFestival, 1st SmartCityHackBarcelona, Top-64-SXSW, ACVC, Phoenix Business Journal 2020 Entrepreneurial Contest Finalist, 2nd Moonshot, & 1st Grand Canyon University’s pitch competition.

He works as a manager at Better Business Bureau serving the Pacific Southwest, the largest Trade Association in Arizona. Specifically, he is one of the key leaders and manages the local Empower by GoDaddy program, where they have a Main St. accelerator, and Massively Online Open Course/Incubator, and other events and programming dedicated to the Main St. Business owner.

He also is in the Navy Reserves and volunteers his time to mentor young businesses and business owners.

Better Business Bureau (BBB) encourages businesses to operate with integrity, and helps consumers choose companies and charities they can trust. Businesses earn BBB Accreditation by adhering to operating with high standards of ethical business practices.

Sarah McCraren is an Arizona native with a strong sense of community. Sarah spent many years in the corporate finance world specializing in the operational analysis, measurement and accountability systems, project management and software implementations. However, Sarah wanted to do work which was meaningful and would positively impact her community.

She found that saving lives and reducing injuries through comprehensive safety programs fit that bill. Sarah currently leads the McCraren Compliance team by keeping everyone focused on their primary purpose, creating workplaces where we all watch out for each other, and balancing the needs of all their stakeholders.

Sarah serves on the Boards for Conscious Capitalism Arizona and the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration Tucson Chapter, and is also active with the Arizona Builders Alliance, Arizona Rock Products Association , Arizona Transportation Builders and Women in Mining Az.
