Who will win the Startup Territorial Cup?

by | Apr 4, 2016 | Blog, Business, Past Events

In 2015, the U of A startup team Infinurja, a company that designs, produces and sells products that use organic waste to generate electricity, took home the Territorial Trophy at the Arizona Collegiate Venture Competition (ACVC).

On April 8, we are excited to watch 11 new startup teams from the four Arizona universities, ASU, U of A, NAU and GCU, go head-to-head in the 4th annual ACVC pitch competition. These teams are vying for a piece of $60,000 in cash prizes and scholarships, along with bragging rights and the Startup Territorial Cup Trophy.

Last year we had over 100 attendees filled with investors, influencers, students and representatives from incubators, and expect a higher attendance this year.

Together with MAC6, we are excited for Draper University to join us this year as a co-sponsor.

Draper University was founded by legendary Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Draper in 2012. To date, Draper University has created over 250 startups that have raised more than $50 million, funded by some of the most prestigious investors, including Marc Andreessen, Tim Draper, and Marc Benioff.

MAC6, and Hool Coury Law are excited for the opportunity this year to provide an amazing experience for the winning teams, which will be even more valuable than any of the prize money both for their businesses and individual founders,” said Kyle McIntosh, Co-Founder and Creative Excitant at MAC6.

Draper will be supplying three scholarships valued at $30,000. The team will travel to their campus in Silicon Valley where they will participate in a 7 week priceless learning from various silicon valley mentors and venture capitalists.

We believe this connection with Draper provides a great bridge between Arizona startups and top Silicon Valley Investors.

Whether you’re a fan of Sparky, Wilbur/Wilma, Thunder or the Lumberjack, or just a person with a great idea, this event will fire up your entrepreneurial spirit!  The event is FREE!

We look forward to meeting you at the ACVC!
